Fred Johnson was just following orders. Or, so he thought when he attacked Anderson Station. Fred and his troops breached the hull of the station and marched in, guns blazing. He carefully monitored the progress of his forces as they cleared corridor after corridor. There were pockets of resistance that they overcame quickly since the troops wore body armor and were armed with high-powered rifles. The “terrorists” on board the station wore nothing but coveralls and were armed with anything they could get their hands on – a few guns, but mostly tools and other hand-made weapons. Capital Gaines: Smart Things I Learned Doing Stupid Stuff by Chip Gaines It seems that there is this mean streak in people today. They feel entitled to speak down to anyone they feel is not as smart as they! This is shown in the reviews of this book. This is a nice guy telling us about his life in a nice way. When I read … Continue reading Capital Gaines: Smart Things I Learned Doing Stupid Stuff
Miranda Warning by Heather Day Gilbert My husband’s deep brown eyes glowed as he handed me the cocoa. “Maybe you’ll sleep better tonight, Rosey.” I was tired of the charade between us. I never wanted to smile at his dinner parties again. Never wanted to beg him for the children he wouldn’t give me. I’d never again clean up his clothes, covered in moonshine vomit.I … Continue reading “I chose the day I would die”

Nylund, is a great read for anyone who enjoys action and adventure, and yes, a little mystery too. Titan Base is book 3 in the 4-book series called The Resisters. The … Continue reading Resistance is Futile – Or is it?
Two more books for the Abandoned books list: The Dinosaur Lords by Victor Milan Men and women live on Paradise, but dinosaurs predominate. Colossal plant-eaters like Brachiosaurus, terrifying meat-eaters like Allosaurus, and, the most feared of all, Tyrannosaurus rex rule the land. Seeking to centralize real power in his figurehead Fanged Throne, Emperor Felipe of Nuevaropa sets off a chain of wars that may blaze … Continue reading Dinosaurs and Field Guides
During a recent trip to the library, I spotted this book on a small table with books marked as “Last Chance!” I assumed that this meant the books on the table were about to be removed from circulation if they weren’t borrowed soon. With its attractive, colorful cover, which is a picture of two children swinging from ropes into or over a blazing fire, I thought, “That looks interesting!” so, I borrowed it, in an attempt to save the poor book from being withdrawn. Continue reading Ay! Ye be needin ta be readin with yer kids, ya scallywag!
